NATIONAL REPORT—Domestic hoteliers continue to count on robust demand as they add to the lodging supply, opening properties across the United States. In Colorado, for example, BMC Investments, in partnership with Chattanooga, TN-based Vision Hospitality Group, Inc. opened the 170-room Moxy Denver/Cherry Creek, the first ground-up development of a Moxy in the U.S. and the first Vision Hospitality-managed hotel in the state.
The eight-story hotel’s amenities include a 50-in. television in all guestrooms, grab-and-go bites, a social public area with games, and keyless entry access for all rooms via Marriott’s mobile check-in app. Additionally, the hotel features a full-service bar and the “Beer Garden,” an outdoor bar exclusive to the Moxy Denver/Cherry Creek.
“To date, Cherry Creek has presented tremendous pricing barriers for hotel guests and no select-service options to speak of. Anyone seeking an approachable lodging option near Cherry Creek has had to stay in Glendale. We believe that bringing a Marriott-affiliated, forward-looking hotel brand, offered at an affordable rate, is going to be highly accretive to the Cherry Creek experience,” said Matthew Joblon, principal/CEO of BMC Investments.
“We are excited to be entering Denver’s robust market,” added Vision President/CEO Mitch Patel.
SpringHill Suites Opens in Utah
In Moab, UT, a 99-key SpringHill Suites by Marriott has opened at 1865 North Highway 191. It is owned and managed by Lodging Dynamics of Provo, UT.
“We are extremely excited to extend our presence in Moab,” said Joel Sybrowsky, president, Lodging Dynamics Hospitality Group. “The SpringHill Suites will be a great fit for our travelers and will complement the existing Fairfield Inn & Suites next door.”
