AMSTERDAM—Room Mate Hotels has unveiled its newest design-driven hotel, Room Mate Aitana, located here on the IJ River.
Designed by Dutch architect Jan Bakers and Spanish interior designer Tomas Alia, the 13-story Room Mate Aitana is situated on the IJ Dock, a man-made island, located near the Jordaan district.
The hotel offers 284 guestrooms and suites; seven meeting rooms accommodating small and large scale events; a restaurant managed by Vitam, a well-known Dutch restaurant group; and a lounge offering a variety of wines and cocktails; a business center; fitness facilities; a marina with a capacity for 60 moorings; and complimentary WiFi throughout the hotel.
Each guestroom and suite features a bright, contemporary design in the color palettes of cool blues, neutral browns and deep greens, and windows offer views of central Amsterdam. Room Mate Aitana is located adjacent to the Palace of Justice, and within walking distance of many of city’s attractions, restaurants, nightlife and the Amsterdam Central Station.
Room Mate Hotels currently has two properties in the U.S.—Room Mate Grace in New York and Room Mate Waldorf in Miami Beach.
