INTERNATIONAL REPORT—From Germany to China, Hotel Business is tracking hotel and resort openings abroad. Here’s a look at three of them:
Roomers Munich
Autograph Collection Hotels, Marriott International’s collection of independent hotels, has opened its fourth hotel in Germany—Roomers Munich.
“With its unparalleled location, immersive design and bespoke dining experiences, Roomers Munich perfectly embodies the ‘exactly like nothing else’ ethos of the brand,” said Brian Povinelli, SVP and global brand leader, Autograph Collection Hotels.
Created by the Gekko Group with interiors led by design company Concrete, the hotel’s furnishings mix natural materials—wood, leather and marble—with polished copper elements through the public spaces. The property’s 281 guestrooms and suites layer contemporary decor with unconventional touches and exceptional art, all evoking the feeling of an intimate boutique hotel.
Additionally, each guestroom is equipped with a Bang & Olufsen Sound System, Nespresso Machine, Apple TV and Android Miracast to the free WiFi and a room bar. There’s also an on-site restaurant, Izakaya Asian Kitchen & Bar.
Hotel Xcaret Mexico
All-inclusive resort Hotel Xcaret Mexico has opened in Riviera Maya, Mexico. The nature-centric destination is a short distance from Cancun International Airport, and provides complimentary access to eight nature parks and tours.
Accommodations include 900 Mexican-inspired all-view suites that have balconies with vistas of the beach, private coves, river and gardens. Among the hotel’s spaces are two retreats: Casa Fuego, an adults-only oasis with private spaces and vistas, and Casa Agua, which presents a more holistic experience and caters to those looking for a more tranquil setting, according to the company. Casa Agua is also positioned near the spa and wellness center, providing direct access.
Options include a suite, junior suite, swim-up suite or master suite. In-room amenities include a blend of Nespresso-compatible coffee capsules by local Café del Cielo, inspired by the locale and only available to hotel guests.
Atlantis Sanya
China will see its first Atlantis property in the spring in Beijing. Five of the resort’s rooms are underwater, immersing guests in the underwater civilization of Atlantis. The Neptune Underwater Suite and Poseidon Underwater Suite will both have views right into the heart of the Ambassador Lagoon and the 86,000 marine animals that reside inside through floor-to-ceiling glass window panels.
The underwater suites will offer a premium-brand sound system, branded bath amenities and a balcony. The resort’s Royal Suite will have expansive views of the ocean and Aquaventure Waterpark. The suite will be able to accommodate up to five adults and two children, with two bedrooms, a pantry, premium brand sound system and a balcony. The Presidential Suite will be a two-bedroom luxury suite, offering ocean views; Imperial Club Lounge will be the resort’s largest ocean-view suite, with four bedrooms, a grand living area, a private gym and a private spa room. All in-house guests have full complimentary access to Aquaventure Waterpark and The Lost Chambers Aquarium.
