NATIONAL REPORT—Marriott International has hotels that are open or underway across the U.S., including a Courtyard by Marriott in a “prime” location, a Fairfield Inn & Suites inspired by the Marriott family homestead, and two Courtyard by Marriott properties, and more.

Courtyard by Marriott Opens Near Possible Amazon HQ

MCR, the sixth-largest hotel owner-operator in the United States, has opened the 187-room Courtyard by Marriott Dulles Airport Herndon.

Five miles from Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD), the six-story hotel is located in the technology corridor dubbed “the Silicon Valley of the East.” As a result, the city is the frontrunner for Amazon.com’s second headquarters, an eight million sq. ft. campus for 50,000 employees.

“We developed the Courtyard by Marriott Dulles Airport Herndon with Amazon.com in mind,” says Tyler Morse, CEO and managing partner of MCR and Morse Development. “In our hotel, the area’s tech work force will have flexible spaces and free lightning fast WiFi to stream, shop and work online.”

Courtyard by Marriott Opens in GA, NY

Courtyard by Marriott Savannah Airport opened its doors in Savannah, GA, featuring an innovative lobby space as well as Courtyard’s latest contemporary room design. Located at 419 Pooler Parkway, the 120-room hotel will operate as a Marriott franchise, owned and managed by Image Hotels of Savannah, GA.

Elsewhere, the Courtyard by Marriott Albany Troy/Waterfront has opened in Troy, NY. Located at 515 River St., the 132-room hotel will operate as a Marriott franchise, owned by a joint venture between Hampstead America LLC and First Columbia LLC, and managed by DelMonte Hotel Group of Rochester, NY.

Fairfield Opens in Fort Morgan, CO

The 82-room Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott in Fort Morgan, CO is now open for business with new decor that provides guests with a feeling of warmth and calm while traveling. Located at 1290 Cottonwood Parkway, the Fairfield Inn & Suites Fort Morgan will operate as a Marriott franchise, owned and managed by Morgan Lodging LLC.

Residence Inn by Marriott to open Stamford, CT

Residence Inn by Marriott is set to open its first hotel in Stamford, CT, in late fall, bringing Connecticut’s third-largest city and one of the Northeast’s largest corporate centers its first-ever extended-stay brand. Located 30 miles from New York City, Residence Inn by Marriott Stamford Downtown is owned by UC Funds and will be managed by Urgo Hotels & Resorts. The new eight-story, all-suite hotel located at 25 Atlantic St. will offer 156 luxury apartment-style accommodations and almost 2,000 sq. ft. of meeting and event space in the heart of the city’s downtown.
