Hotels in development abroad include a W hotel in a new entertainment development in Macau, a Regent resort in Vietnam and a Six Senses resort in Dubai.

W Macau—Studio City
Melco Resorts & Entertainment, a global developer, owner and operator of integrated resort facilities, has entered into a strategic partnership with Marriott International to bring the W Hotels Worldwide brand to Studio City Phase 2, the new cinematically themed entertainment and leisure destination in Macau.

Scheduled to open together with Studio City Phase 2 in December 2022, W Macau—Studio City will complement Studio City’s other hospitality offerings, which include one of Asia’s largest indoor & outdoor water parks, a six-screen Cineplex, residency show and MICE space.

The hotel expects to have 557 guestrooms, including 127 suites and wellness facilities, a spa, fitness center and indoor swimming pool, as well as two dining venues, the Living Room (the W brand’s signature lobby) and WOOBAR. Also on-site will be a W Sound Suite, the brand’s signature suite with an on-site recording studio, and 11,840 sq. ft. (1,100 sq. m.) of event and meeting space.

Regent Phu Quoc
Opening its doors in Q1 2022, Regent Phu Quoc will be an ultra-luxury all suites and villas resort set in a private beachfront location in Long Beach on Phu Quoc Island in Vietnam. It will be the first resort following IHG’s acquisition of the brand in 2018.

The resort will offer 176 suites and 126 villas, as well as six dining venues and a spa with treatment rooms, rooftop and outdoor yoga pavilions and several swimming pools.

Recognized as a UNESCO World Biosphere reserve, nearly half of Phu Quoc Island is a national park.

Six Senses The Palm, Dubai
Select Group, a global property developer, and its joint venture partner Emirates Strategic Investments Company (ESIC), has signed a management agreement with Six Senses Hotels Resorts Spas to develop the ultra-luxury operator’s first branded residences and hotel in the United Arab Emirates.

Construction is set to commence in January, with a targeted completion date of Q4 2024. The development will be set across an area of 1.2 million sq. ft.

The property will have 60 guestrooms and more than 60,000 sq. ft. of amenities and facilities that include restaurants, bars, a gymnasium, a squash court, a kids club, a spa, a library, a wellness and longevity center, pools and a dedicated beach space.
