CHICAGO— The Dana Hotel and Spa project here has topped off and is now in line for completion in the summer of 2008. Chicago-based Neighborhood Development Corp. and Gold Coast Hotels, Inc are developing the $60-million, 26-story, 216-room luxury lifestyle hotel. The hotel will be located in Chicago’s River North neighborhood and will feature the indoor/outdoor rooftop Vertigo Lounge, a sushi bar that appears to float in the lobby, a Japanese steak house and a sake lounge. The centerpiece of the 150,000-square-foot hotel will be its luxury spa and fitness center. Project participants include architecture firm Eckenhoff Saunders Architects, interior design firm EDI Architecture, Inc. and construction partner Bovis Lend Lease. Financing for the project was arranged by First Bank & Trust Co. of Illinois and provided by U.S. Bank, Bank of Scotland and AztecAmerica Bank.
