HAIFA, ISRAEL- Elscint Ltd. announced that a Dutch company in which its wholly owned subsidiary, BEA Hotels NV, holds a 45% interest, has entered into an agreement for the acquisition of the long term lease rights to the Sherlock Holmes Hotel situated on Baker Street in London. The long-term lease is for a period of 125 years.
The Sherlock Holmes Hotel is presently a 3-star property consisting of 125 rooms. A refurbishment is being planned in order to upgrade the hotel to a 4-star rating operating under the Park Plaza trade name. (9/5/00)
