PARSIPPANY, NJ—Wyndham Rewards unveiled its newest travel partner: Latin American air carrier Avianca. Through the newly formed partnership, members of the program can now earn Avianca LifeMiles with every qualified stay at a Wyndham Rewards hotel. Through October 9, members can earn triple the miles as part of a launch promotion.
Latin America is an increasingly important region for Wyndham Rewards and its parent company, Wyndham Hotel Group, according to the company. Last year, the company added nearly 40 hotels and more than 5,000 rooms across the region in countries such as Argentina, Brazil, Mexico, Guatemala and Colombia.
“Travel and tourism continue to outpace the growth of the global economy and in Latin America specifically, we’re seeing an increasing need for internationally known, high-quality, branded hotels that target and appeal to a rising global middle class,” said Paulo Pena, president and managing director of Latin America and Caribbean for Wyndham Hotel Group. “As a company uniquely suited to meet this demand, it’s essential that as we expand, we continue aligning ourselves with partners who add value and resonate with the evolving needs and desires of our global guests. Avianca, with its growing fleet and expanded routes—not just in its home country of Colombia, but across the region—is an ideal fit.”
Starting today, Wyndham Rewards members may select Avianca as their preferred earning partner and in lieu of Wyndham Rewards points, earn two Avianca LifeMiles per every U.S. dollar spent at any of nearly 8,000 Wyndham Rewards hotels, with the exception of select hotels, which earn 500 Avianca LifeMiles per stay. Hotels that earn 500 miles per stay include those under the Dolce, Wyndham Grand, Wyndham, Wyndham Garden, TRYP by Wyndham and Hawthorn Suites by Wyndham brands.
