AK-CHIN INDIAN COMMUNITY, AZ—The Ak-Chin Indian Community of the Maricopa Indian Reservation and Sundt-Yates, a joint venture between Sundt Construction, Inc., and Yates Construction, broke ground on a multimillion-dollar expansion project at Harrah’s Ak-Chin Casino in this community, near Maricopa, AZ.

Designed by TBE Architects, the expansion will include a spa, conference center, parking garage, restaurants and more than 200 guestrooms.

“The Ak-Chin Indian Community is excited about this expansion that will provide our guests and visitors with the quality hospitality and entertainment they have come to expect at Harrah’s Ak-Chin Casino,” said Robert Miguel, chairman, Ak-Chin Indian Community.

“As one of a few full-service hotels and casinos in the area, this expansion will offer more options to visitors and guests throughout the Pinal and Maricopa counties,” said Robert Livingston, general manager of the hotel and casino.

“Economic development projects for Indian Communities are some of the most impactful projects we build,” said Chandra Reilly, project director, Sundt. “This project has demanded the best ideas out of everyone involved, and we look forward to bringing those ideas to life over the next two years.”
