GLOUCESTER , MA—Windover Construction has begun construction on the Beauport Hotel Gloucester, a luxury hotel and conference center located on Gloucester Harbor. Lee Dellicker, president and CEO of Windover, was joined by Gloucester Mayor Carolyn Kirk, Cruiseport Gloucester Principal Sheree Zizik, Beauport General Manager Ray Johnston, State Representative Ann-Margaret Ferrante and Senator Bruce Tarr, for a ground-breaking ceremony on Nov. 14. The project will be completed by summer 2016.
The Beauport Hotel Gloucester will feature 96 guestrooms, an executive and bridal suite, a rooftop pool, a full-service waterfront restaurant lounge and bar, several meeting rooms and two ballrooms. The new hotel is located at the old Birdseye frozen-food plant, directly on the Gloucester waterfront. Under a design/build agreement with Windover, architect John Olson leads the design team of Olson Lewis+ of Manchester, MA.
“We are honored to be a part of such an amazing project and humbled by the trust the owners have put in us to create such a wonderful facility,” stated Dellicker. “The Beauport Hotel Gloucester will not only be beautiful when complete, but will be a catalyst for economic growth in one of New England’s most scenic and charming port cities.”
