PALMA DE MALLORCA, SPAIN—Meliá Hotels will open and manage the newly constructed Meliá Costa Hollywood Beach Resort in the Hollywood/Fort Lauderdale area of South Florida in 2015. The new condominium hotel property will be the company’s second under the Meliá Hotels & Resorts’ brand in the United States, the first being Meliá Orlando Suite Hotel at Celebration, FL.
Melia Costa Hollywood will overlook Hollywood Beach, with views of the Atlantic Ocean and the Intercoastal Waterway. The resort is just 10 minutes from Aventura Mall and only five minutes from Gulfstream Park, both of which offer luxury shops, cafés and fine dining.
Developed by Liberty Grande, LLC., the new project will consist of a combination of 304 fully furnished hotel and residential “smart units”—ranging from studios to one, two and three bedrooms—as part of a new six-story Costa Hollywood Beach Resort community. According to the company, each room will feature a sleek interior design with natural color palettes, and will be equipped with a multilingual electronic concierge, flat-screen televisions complete with movies on demand, full kitchens with energy-efficient appliances and an automated valet parking system.
“We remain steadfast in our expansion within the United States, starting with the ME Miami in 2015, the first stateside ME by Meliá hotel, followed by the Innside Manhattan in early 2016,” stated Gabriel Escarrer, vice chairman and CEO of Meliá Hotels International. “The opening of Meliá Costa Hollywood will strengthen our presence in the United States market and attract global travelers.”
Meliá Costa Hollywood will offer amenities including a spa and fitness facility, a rooftop infinity pool and sun deck, five fine-dining restaurants, in-room dining service, a gourmet coffee shop, rooftop bar and grill and a business center.
“We believe Meliá Hotels & Resorts is the ideal partner for the new Costa Hollywood Beach Resort,” stated Moses Bensusan, managing member of Liberty Grande, LLC. “With its unwavering commitment to service and global experience in hotel operation and management, Meliá is no better brand to align ourselves with.”
Melia Hotels International currently operates 365 hotels throughout 40 countries and four continents, 90 of which are part of the Meliá Hotels & Resorts brand. Future projects include the opening of Meliá Jamaica in 2016 and the rebranding of Meliá at Baha Mar with an expected completion date in 2015.
