SAN FRANCISCO—The Westin St. Francis here has completed a $20-million renovation of the Tower Building, in time for its 110th anniversary.
This is the largest renovation of the building since it opened in 1972 as an addition to the historic 1904 Landmark Building. Comprised of 569 guestrooms on 32 floors, the Tower Building is one of the tallest buildings on Union Square.
Remodeled by the design team at Strategic Hotels & Resorts, owners of The Westin St. Francis, the guestrooms are styled in shades of cool blue, ivory, taupe and rusty red. Each room features custom-designed rich dark wood furniture, light-colored wallcoverings, plush carpeting and large bay windows with floor-to-ceiling curtains. Modern paintings and mixed media artwork by three San Francisco artists—Derek Lynch, Kristin Kyono and Sandra Russell—are featured throughout the suites and corridors, while guestroom artwork is done by Los Angeles painter Alex Couwenberg.
Guestrooms also offer a chaise lounge with an ottoman, executive desks and the Westin Heavenly bed.
Bathrooms are outfitted with marble vanities, new mirrors, sconces and the signature Westin Heavenly Bath with a rainfall showerhead and White Tea by Westin amenities.
Corridors were redone with new carpet, wallcoverings, ceiling pendants, artwork and elevator landing furniture, tables, lamps and mirrors.
