ORLANDO—UrbanAmerica, a private-equity investment firm, indicates its searching for more U.S. hospitality investment opportunities after adding the International Plaza Resort and Spa here to its portfolio as a joint venture with Buena Vista Hospitality Group. The resort is undergoing a multimillion-dollar conversion into a condo-hotel. According to UrbanAmerica President/CEO Richmond McCoy, the acquisition is “a great springboard to our future hospitality success. We believe it will be the first of many UrbanAmerica hospitality ventures. We’re strategically seeking out additional hospitality ventures and acquisition opportunities at this time, not just in Florida but all across the nation.”
