HOUSTON—The 120-suite TownePlace Suites by Marriott in Houston has opened at 5315 South Rice Ave. It will operate as a Marriott franchise, owned and managed by Propel Management of San Antonio.
Located a mile from the Galleria Mall and 10 minutes from downtown, the hotel offers access to the Texas Medical Center and NRG Stadium, home of the Houston Texans.
“We are pleased with the continued growth of the TownePlace Suites brand in the Houston area,” said Loren Nalewanski, VP and global brand manager, TownePlace Suites. “Providing an upscale residential atmosphere, this TownePlace Suites hotel offers an appealing alternative to more standard hotel rooms designed for shorter stays.”
The hotel’s lobby includes a variety of seating options, as well as a touch-screen interactive TowneMap that showcases local places to eat, popular night spots, recreation areas, shopping and other services, such as dry cleaners and local car wash outlets. The lobby will also host a complimentary breakfast buffet every morning, as well as 24-hour On Us coffee service and the 24-hour In a Pinch market.
The property offers studio, one-bedroom and two-bedroom suites with fully equipped kitchens that have stainless-steel appliances and granite countertops, as well as separate living/working and sleeping areas. In-room amenities include a sofa and task chair; a large flat-screen television; and new bedding. Most rooms also feature the Home Office Suite, complete with The Container Store’s elfa closet system.
Other hotel amenities include an outdoor swimming pool, an exercise room open 24 hours per day, complimentary wireless Internet throughout the hotel and on-site business services, including copying, faxing and printing. The property is pet-friendly and also provides laundry facilities.
