INTERNATIONAL REPORT—Hotel Business has been tracking new projects being signed across the globe, including a first for AC Hotels in Australia. Here’s a look:

AC Hotels by Marriott Brand to Debut in Australia

Marriott International Inc. has signed an agreement with Capital Alliance Normanby Hotel Pty. Ltd to introduce the AC Hotels by Marriott brand to Australia.

The 200-room AC Hotel by Marriott Melbourne Southbank hotel will open in 2020 as part of a mixed-use development. The hotel marks Marriott International’s second major hotel deal with Capital Alliance, with Melbourne Marriott Hotel Docklands currently under construction.

The hotel will be located in The Normanby, a 40-story mixed-use building that will feature high-end apartments, dining venues and shopping.

Dream Hotel Group Signs Atlanta Location

Dream Hotel Group revealed plans to debut Dream Atlanta, Buckhead in 2021.

Designed by Atlanta-based architecture firm Cooper Carry, the hotel will include 200 guestrooms and suites, 90 private residences, a spa and wellness concept and five dining and nightlife venues, including a 17,000-sq.-ft. rooftop pool bar and lounge. The dual-tower development will also include 80,000 sq. ft. of additional office and retail space.

“We found a great partner in Cartel Properties, a company that plays an important role in Atlanta’s history and transformation story,” said Dream Hotel Group CEO Jay Stein.

New Cambria Hotel Coming to Milwaukee

Choice Hotels International Inc. has signed an agreement with Integrated Plankinton Milwaukee LLC, an affiliate of Chicago-based Murphy Development Group (MDG), to develop the Cambria Hotel Milwaukee. Expected to open in the summer 2019, the hotel is the third property for the brand to enter the state of Wisconsin, joining properties in Madison and Appleton.

The four-story, 132-room Cambria Hotel Milwaukee will be located in downtown Milwaukee. The hotel will include 1,300 sq. ft. of multifunction meeting space and a business center.
