CARROLLTON, TX— Accor North America has promoted two executives to the position of vp. Kristin Taylor has been named vp of real estate and development and Janice Maragakis is the new vp of corporate communications. Taylor is responsible for all real estate asset management activities for Accor North America’s approximately 1,000 company-owned and leased properties. She joined Accor North America in 1998 as manager of real estate and development and was promoted to director in 2002. Prior to joining Accor, Taylor was the corporate controller for the International Group of ClubCorp. Maragakis’ responsibilities include corporate communications for six Accor brands— Motel 6, Studio 6, Red Roof Inn, Ibis, Novotel and Sofitel— in North America. In addition to serving as co-chair of the Accor Crisis Team, she manages Accor North America’s financial public relations and handles the Accor press hotline. Maragakis joined Accor in 2005 as director of public relations and served as senior director of public relations before her recent promotion. Prior to joining Accor, she ran her own public relations and marketing agency for 18 years.
