FLOWER MOUND, TX— Benchmark Hospitality International has expanded its management portfolio with the addition of the Lakeside Resort & Residences, a new property to be built here on Lake Grapevine. Ground has been broken on the project, which is within the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. The resort is expected to open in the fall of 2008. The 18-story Lakeside Resort & Residences will reportedly be the tallest structure in Flower Mound. The property will feature 289 guestrooms, a 25,000-square-foot conference center, two water-view restaurants, a 12,000-square-foot spa and an outdoor pool with a lazy river pool feature. Topping the building will be 64 one-, two- and three-bedroom condominiums, which will have available all the services and amenities of the resort as well as a private entrance, lobby, elevators and parking. Ten penthouses will provide up to 3,500 square feet of living space each. Hines, an international real estate development firm with U.S. headquarters in Houston, is developing Lakeside Resort & Residences. The architecture will be by Three Architecture and the interior design will be by BOKA Powell.
