Starwood Wins Extension On Boston Project

BOSTON Starwood Hotels & Resorts won an extension of a second financing deadline for its planned headquarters hotel for the new Boston convention center, the Boston Herald said. The Massachusetts Convention Center Authority voted to allow Starwood 60 more days to secure financing for the 1,210-room hotel or risk losing the deal.
Starwood won the contract for the $268 million project in November, and almost lost it in June after missing an earlier financing deadline.
Starwood earlier this week was reiterated strong buy by analyst Mark Mutkowski at Deutsche Banc. Alex Brown. (9/25/00)
