WHITE PLAINS, NY- Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide signed a franchise agreement, converting the former Camberly Gunter Hotel into the Sheraton Gunter Hotel.

Originally opened in 1909, the 322-room historic property is located in downtown San Antonio, just one-half block from the citys famous Riverwalk. The hotel is owned by Houston Street Hotel Partners, LP of Los Angeles and is operated by American Property Management Corp. of San Diego.

The hotel marks Starwoods 4th property in San Antonio, including the Westin La Cantera Resort, the Four Points Hotel San Antonio Riverwalk North, and The Westin Riverwalk. (10/24/00)
