BETHESDA, MD—The St. Regis Changsha has opened in Changsha, China, marking the brand’s eighth hotel in the country. St. Regis also expects to debut The St. Regis Shanghai Jing’an later this year, as well as four additional hotels in Greater China’s gateway cities and leisure destinations over the next five years.
“The St. Regis Changsha represents yet another compelling milestone for the brand as we grow our portfolio of exquisite luxury hotels in the Greater China region,” said Stephen Ho, CEO, Greater China, Marriott International.
Owned by the Yunda Group, the hotel is housed in the heart of Yunda Central Plaza, on the 48th to 63rd floors in one of the city’s tallest skyscrapers. There is also a helipad on the 63rd floor. The property offers 188 guestrooms and suites that are designed and decorated with subtle Chinese touches. Amenities include the signature St. Regis Butler Service, meeting spaces and an on-site athletic club.
There are six distinct culinary venues: Social provides the traditional St. Regis brunch and live cooking stations; Yan Ting is a refined specialty Chinese restaurant; Japanese dishes are served at Un; Chinese tea is available at the Tea Lounge; the Drawing Room offers coffee and champagne; and the St. Regis Bar is open for handcrafted cocktails.
