CASTRIES, ST. LUCIA—Rendezvous, the Caribbean hideaway designed exclusively for couples, has revealed a $12.5-million renovation that updates its Seaside Suites and Verandah Suites with brand new bathrooms, room layouts, furniture and color schemes, and will later this year add a new à la carte beachside restaurant, Malabar.
Situated on the ground floor, each Seaside Suite was fitted with new closets, new furniture, a king-sized bed and a new, open bathroom, which features a spacious bathtub and dual vanities. Additionally, the suites now feature large floor-to-ceiling glass doors that open to the outdoors. The suites’ selling point, the outdoor terraces, also received new furniture including a sofa and an outdoor cantilever umbrella. The suites are decorated in white and pastels of mint green and blue.
The two-story Verandah Suites, with views of the on-property exotic gardens, also underwent a full refurbishment, including the addition of an open bathroom and new layouts to the room and veranda. Each bathroom now features porcelain tiles, a free-standing tranquility soaking tub, a walk-in shower featuring frameless glass shower doors and a new vanity, while the room refresh includes new Oak closets, a set of sliding doors in lieu of the former windows, a king-sized bed, and bedding and decor in rust, pearl and coral tones. Additionally, the renovation refreshed the large 12-ft.-deep verandas overlooking the island with a love seat and a coffee table. Both the Seaside and Verandah Suites have amenities such as a mini refrigerator, tea and coffee appliances, and a docking station.
“Rendezvous caters to discerning couples looking to reconnect and spend time together without any distractions, and we continually seek ways to support them in their endeavor in such a stressful world,” said Andrew Barnard, deputy managing director of SunSwept Resorts. “We are confident that this renovation will uphold our commitment to provide the best services and accommodations to our guests.”
Projected to open this fall, Malabar will be an on-the-beach seaside à la carte restaurant whose dining room will rest under an open sail. Its decor will include dining tables and chairs hand-crafted from the local Samaan tree and driftwood.
