AMHERST, NY— Sleep Inn Amherst, a Buffalo Lodging Associates property, was recently named the recipient of a Platinum Hospitality Award by Choice Hotels International. Sleep Inn Amherst has previously been recognized by Choice Hotels, winning Gold Awards in 2000 and 2001 and both a Gold Award and Inn of the Year in 2002. Before a property can become eligible for the Platinum Award, it must undergo four qualifying physical inspections and win two Gold Awards. The inspections concentrate on housekeeping, the front office and maintenance departments. Service skills, safety procedures and human resource functions are also assessed, and proper documentation must be submitted. The five-floor, 92-room hotel is 15 minutes from downtown Buffalo, NY.
