More Register For HITEC 2003

AUSTIN, TX— Pre-registration for the Hospitality Industry Technology Exposition and Conference (HITEC) is up more than 8% over last years numbers as of April 15, 2003, reported the event’s producers, the Hospitality Financial and Technology Professionals (HFTP). The event will be held June 24-26 at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center in New Orleans. HITEC features companies displaying technology products and services geared to the hospitality industry. The event also is an educational conference with experts from all segments of the industry, including hotels, restaurants, resorts and clubs. HITEC has been in existence for more than 30 years. Last year, the conference had more than 600 booths and 5,500 participants, according to Lance Peterson, HFTPs director/marketing. Peterson noted that exhibit booth sales remain strong, but are trailing about 2% compared to this time last year. But, he said, “Right now, booth sales are behind 10 booths from last year at this time and beating last years numbers is going to be a cinch.”
