Shaw Hospitality Introduces Brand New Carpet Lineup

NEW YORK— Shaw Hospitality will be making some news at the 2005 International Hotel/Motel & Restaurant Show through a couple of carpeting product introductions.
One of those new products is called Midnight Tones, which is a cut and loop nylon carpet product designed for guestrooms. According to Kevin Sanders, Shaw Hospitality’s vp, sales, the product is available in many fashionable colors and is a high-end style.
“We’re launching Midnight Tones at the show,” he said. “It is one pattern actually, but with multiple colorations to choose from. It also contains 25% recycled content and is 100% recyclable. It has a commercial wear warranty of 10 years and also a stain warranty of 10 years.”

More Patterns, Textures

Dalton, GA-based Shaw Hospitality will also be premiering its Visari Collection at this year’s event. This collection offers three public space carpeting patterns that are all designed to coordinate with one another, according to Sanders. “If you’re trying to do a lobby, hallway and meeting room, the three designs work together and we stock it in seven different colorations,” he said. “It can also be delivered within three to four weeks.”
Of course, the list of products Shaw Hospitality will be showcasing at the IH/M&RS goes on, Sanders said, and will include its Bookends and Running Line collections. But he also noted that in terms of specific trends in the industry, designers and hotel owners are now looking for carpets with more patterns and more texture to them. Sanders added that solution-dyed products are particularly popular because they are stain resistant and won’t fade much when exposed to sunlight over many years. Hoteliers are also selecting denser carpets because they wear better, he said.
