ATLANTA—InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) has opened its second EVEN Hotels property in Rockville, MD, in the Washington, DC metro area.
IHG’s new lifestyle and wellness hotel brand aims to help travelers maintain balance while on the road, according to the company. The first property opened in Norwalk, CT, in June.
Three additional properties are in the pipeline, two in midtown Manhattan and one in Brooklyn, NY. The brand concept was developed in 2012. IHG is focused on building the brand in markets such as San Francisco, Chicago, Denver, Portland, Seattle and Los Angeles.
“Two years ago, IHG introduced the EVEN Hotels brand, pinpointing a unique opportunity to offer an entire hotel experience focused on wellness in order to meet the changing needs of our guests,” stated Kirk Kinsell, president, the Americas, IHG. “Following the opening of the first property in Norwalk, Connecticut, we are pleased to announce the opening of the second EVEN hotel, located in the fittest metro area in the United States.”
The four pillars of the EVEN Hotels brand are Eat Well, Rest Easy, Keep Active and Accomplish More.
EVEN Hotels offers nutritious menus with a focus on organic, fresh, fit and energizing meals all day long. The hotels offer the ability to pre-select “Go” boxes to take on the road as well as Treat Yourself opportunities, such as signature cocktails and desserts to reward hard work.
The brand offers natural elements and eco-conscious elements such as real wood surfaces and terrariums throughout the property to create a restful environment. Guestrooms feature eucalyptus fiber linens, naturally derived bath products and LED mood lighting.
To help guests stay active, the EVEN Hotels Athletic Studio, located off the lobby, features a translucent wall for light and openness, and guests can participate in TV and staff-led classes in the nearby Flex Room. Guests can also exercise in their rooms with equipment such as the EVEN Hotels Trainer, a mounted fitness wall.
EVEN Hotels offers check-in through technology at the WellCome Island. The brand also features flexible spaces for meetings, accessible plug and complimentary WiFi throughout the hotel.
