Seattle’s Edgewater Hotel Gets Renovated

SEATTLE, WA The Hotel Edgewater, an L-shaped hotel that sits on pilings in Seattles Elliott Bay, is undergoing a $4 million renovation that is transforming the city s only waterfront hotel into a mountain lodge. The entryway, when finished, will feature a fountain in front of the rock-and-beam porte-cochere. Plans also call for a wall between the parking area and Alaskan Way sidewalk, with landscaping to provide a park-like atmosphere in front of the hotel. And staying true to the lodge theme, each guestroom now has a gas fireplace and footstools made to resemble brown bears. (11/30/00)
