PHOENIX John Russell, president of the hospitality division of THINKologies and vice chairman of the AH&MA was awarded the 2nd Annual Above & Beyond award at The Lodging Conference here today. Russell was recognized for his humanitarian/philanthropic work outside the industry with such organizations as the American Cancer Society; the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation, and Friends of Tel Aviv.
Last year s inaugural winner, Steve Belmonte, president/CEO of Ramada Franchise Systems, was unable to make the presentation, but did forward his praise and congratulations to Russell for his work. (9/14/00) Michael Billig
