ORLANDO—ProfitSword, LLC will showcase a new user interface for its business intelligence applications at the HITEC Convention and Tradeshow in Austin, June 14 to 18.
According to the company, the new UI will incorporate an entirely new look and provide dramatically enhanced dashboard capabilities for individual users, including more flexibility in reporting and providing individual users with the ability to create, view, and save dashboards that are specific to their needs. Users can incorporate data-style reports, graphical analysis and video into the dashboards. The dashboard can then be saved for future reference and when recalled, will update with the latest, fresh data.
The new UI is a combination of customer requests and new development by the ProfitSword staff, according to the company. Mike Patton, co-owner and senior software developer, ProfitSword, stated, “On the back end of our solutions, we had already updated much of base code and reports. The UI was prompted by our partners’ [clients]request for additional dashboards and ad-hoc reporting. We knew it was time for an overhaul and our partner Advisory Council requested the new UI be at the top of our priority list. It made complete sense to make this the next step.”
The new UI uses HTML5 tools throughout. It is comprised of “widgets” of information/graphics. A user can add any number of widgets to the canvas. The screen automatically adjusts in size to accommodate the width of the canvas or the width of the device (mobile or otherwise). The user can then save the dashboard in a “My Favorites” menu for later use.
The new UI has already been deployed to a select few partners, but all of ProfitSword’s partners will have the new UI by the end of 2015. “Our solutions are broken down into two different user interfaces—one for corporate offices (above property), and one for users at the hotel level,” said Patton. “The rollout for the corporate UI will be completed this year and the property UI is scheduled for completion by the end of Q1 2016.
