TUCSON, AR—Prism Hotels & Resorts has assumed management of the 428-room Hilton Tucson El Conquistador Resort located here. In addition to serving as the resort’s manager, the company has also entered into an ownership partnership.

The Prism team will leverage their value-centric approach by transitioning this formerly distressed asset into a profitable and desired hotel for both investors and guests alike, according to the company.

“This hotel is one that has been watched by our industry for some time due to its outstanding offerings and great potential,” said Steve Van, president and CEO of Prism Hotels & Resorts. “Our partner in the hotel, Humberto Lopez, understands this industry, what makes properties successful and how to achieve a competitive advantage today. We knew this was a unique opportunity to deliver our results-based management capabilities and become true partners in success.”

With 428 guestrooms and suite accommodations, the Hilton Tucson El Conquistador Resort is located on more than 500 acres nestled at the base of the Santa Catalina Mountains and surrounded by acres of high Sonoran Desert terrain. The resort combines natural landscapes, local attractions, 45 holes of golf, 31 tennis courts, four onsite restaurants and bars, recreational facilities and more than 107,000 sq. ft. of indoor and outdoor function space.

“We have big plans for both operations, overall positioning, service delivery and guest experience,” said Van. “With our creativity, collaboration with Humberto and the strength of the Hilton brand, we are looking forward to making great things happen at this resort, as well as building on this momentum as a company with future announcements in 2015.”
