PHOENIX—The Holiday Inn Express & Suites Phoenix Tempe University opened here following a $1.5 million conversion from a Comfort Inn.

The renovation includes a new exterior color scheme and new interior urban design in all 72 guestrooms. Amenities include free high-speed wireless Internet connection in all rooms, as well as the lobby and business center, a fitness enter and an outdoor pool.

Located at 1031 E. Apache Blvd., the three-story, 35,000-square-foot hotel is one block east of Arizona State University and a half-mile from the Mill Street District, which features restaurants and shops. The hotel also is nearby Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport.
