NATIONAL REPORT—IHG (InterContinental Hotels Group) has revealed its culinary collaboration between the Staybridge Suites brand and celebrity chef Carla Hall.
A continuation of the brand’s Hugely Different campaign that launched in May, Carla Hall, co-host on ABC’s The Chew, created five exclusive recipes guests can recreate while staying at a Staybridge Suites hotel. All Staybridge Suites properties have full-size appliances in the kitchen and spacious guestrooms.
Raul Ortiz, VP, Staybridge Suites and Candlewood Suites Brands, Americas, IHG commented: “We know many of our guests are away from home for days and weeks at a time, and that makes it incredibly difficult to stick to a routine. One of the many things our guests miss is the ability to prepare a home cooked meal, so, in partnering with Carla, Staybridge Suites has made it simple to take a day off of the dining out cycle and embrace the comforts of home.”
The five recipes include: mixed berry overnight-oats parfait, herbed cheese and broccoli soufflé omelet, grilled chicken kebabs, tomato soup with avocado cheese toast and chili veggie mac.
“I am excited to partner with a brand like Staybridge Suites to bring new, simple and delicious recipes to travelers,” said Hall. “As someone who is frequently on the road, I appreciate the value that Staybridge Suites brings its guests, and the full-size, fully-stocked kitchen makes it easy for me to do what I do best—even when I am away from home.”
Guests will be able to experience one of Carla’s recipes at 11 Staybridge Suites hotels in select cities during the month of October. Participating hotels in New Orleans, Denver and Las Vegas, among other locations across the U.S., will serve the tomato soup with avocado cheese toast at The Social, the brand’s evening happy hour.
Discover Rioja at Omni
Omni Hotels & Resorts has entered its 10th installment of its “Flavors of the World” culinary series, as “Discover Rioja” kicks off at the luxury hotel brand’s 60 properties.
This year, Omni has partnered with Wines from Rioja to highlight Northern Spain’s winemaking region and share its culture, wine and cuisine with guests through signature food and beverage programming brand-wide. The series runs through December 31.
The Spanish-inspired menu, spearheaded by Daven Wardynski, area executive chef at Omni Amelia Island Plantation Resort, in collaboration with Omni’s notable chef roster, features a variety of pintxos (tapas), platos principales (main courses) and pasteles (desserts).
“With a partner as exciting as Wines from Rioja, we are thrilled to bring our guests an authentic look into the region’s rich wines, cuisine and culture,” said Stephen Rosenstock, EVP of operations at Omni Hotels & Resorts. “From our team’s discoveries while visiting the region, to its rustic flavors and welcoming hospitality, we can truly serve our guests a taste of Rioja through our specially-curated menu and some of the best wines in the world.”
