Owners & Developers List: Don’t Be Left Out

It’s that time of year again… the end of a summer that went way too fast… and the publication of our much anticipated and well-read Owners & Developers issue.

This year, we’re profiling five owners, including cover subject Waramaug Hospitality, which ranks 28th on our list (the annual ranking begins after page 60): Baywood Hotels (#18); T2 Hospitality (#29); Moody National Companies (#34); and OTO Development, LLC (#98). And, while the editorial team chose these companies to cover in depth—reporting on their growth, development, strategic plans and opportunities ahead—there are 100 others that make up our list.

In comparing the current Owners & Developers listing to the most recent one we published in last December’s Green Book, some significant data jumped out, which I thought I’d highlight here.

From year-end 2013 to May 31, 2015, in terms of number of rooms: Driftwood Hospitality Management jumped from #35 to #16 (4,082 vs. 8,715 rooms); Carey Watermark Investors moved up from #34 to #17 (4,106 vs. 8.642 rooms); Sage Hospitality went from #55 to #33 (2,615 vs. 4,571 rooms); and Innisfree Hotels leaped from #88 to #58 (1,205 vs. 2,369 rooms).

Thanks to all of the companies that submitted. If you’re an owner or developer, we want you on our list, too. But, you need to submit a survey to be included. And, moreover, you need to submit your numbers (rooms and hotels) to be ranked. Our listing includes 105 companies this year, based on the submissions we received. If you’re not on the list, we didn’t hear from you—or we heard from you but you didn’t submit any company data.

Please make sure you’re not left off the next Owners & Developers listing, which will appear, updated, in the Green Book this December. Email notifications will be sent out, and reminders will be posted on Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn—so make sure to follow Hotel Business on social media—but always feel free to check online at archive.hotelbusiness.com for the appropriate survey (there’s a “survey” tab to point you in the right direction).
