Opryland Texas To Receive New Highway Access

GRAPEVINE, TX The planned Opryland Hotel Texas may receive new highway access even before its doors open, which is scheduled to happen in 2003. Business 114, the nearby highway, is slated to undergo work that will transform it into a wider, more attractive roadway that will serve visitors to the destination.

A movement is underway to give the roadway a catchier name Opryland Boulevard. The City Council is scheduled to consider approving the name change for a one-mile stretch of Business 114 at a September 5 meeting.

If approved, the change would be effective immediately. Construction on the Opryland Hotel Texas began in June. (8/23/00)
