NEW YORK—Olshan Properties has completed its extensive $27.3-million interior redesign and amenity enhancement of the Hilton Columbus at Easton in Columbus, OH.
Developed in 2000, the 345-key hotel is a seven-story, AAA four-diamond luxury hotel and 39,000-sq.-ft. conference center located close to downtown and John Glenn International Airport (CMH).
Having completed a $14-million interior guestroom redesign in 2016, which included the Hilton Honors members’ digital check-in and room selection, Olshan Properties focused this year on a full-scale overhaul of the hotel’s public areas including its new lobby bar, Easton Social, investing more than $13 million to implement a contemporary design and cutting-edge amenities.
“When we embarked on this expansive, dual-phase mission to redefine sophistication in hospitality we did so with a clear vision informed by years of hotel and design expertise coupled with our deep understanding of the local market and region,” said Andrea Olshan, CEO of Olshan Properties.
Upon entering the hotel, there is a fully redesigned lobby and entryway with marble highlights contrasted with neutral colors, rich fabrics and textures. The lobby terrace has furniture for lounging and entertaining. Relocated to the first floor, the executive lounge, an exclusive benefit for Diamond Hilton Honors members and upgraded guests, has been enhanced with a private terrace, VIP service and premium amenities.
In terms of F&B, there is lobby bar, Easton Social, as well as a new restaurant, Herb N’ Kitchen and a signature Hilton gourmet marketplace concept, which offers everything from wines by the bottle to pizza and salads. There is also a private dining room, in association with Easton Social, which offers upscale dining fare paired with the signature cocktails. For light fare and drinks, guests can also use the fireplace or terrace.
In addition to the new public space, there is over 9,000 sq. ft. of additional meeting rooms and event space. With the added meeting space comes new digital signage technology. Each meeting room now has a digital reader board with information on the events taking place, as well as multiple reader boards located near elevators and entrances to stay current with hotel-wide events, weather updates and maps of the conference space. A virtual concierge board has also been installed, with touch-screen abilities, flight updates, directions to local attractions and more.
A revamped pool and fitness area has new tile and resort-style, upholstered chaise lounges. In addition, the fitness center was expanded and the hotel acquired new exercise equipment.
