NATIONAL REPORT—Four boutique properties are open for business, including “America’s Oldest Inn” and properties in New Orleans, Seattle, and Princeton, NJ.
The Groton Inn
Migis Hotel Group welcomed a new boutique hotel to its portfolio of nine properties with the opening of The Groton Inn in Massachusetts earlier this month.
Dubbed “America’s oldest Inn,” the original structure (circa 1678) was destroyed by fire in 2011 and has been reimagined, drawing inspiration from classic New England architecture and the area’s colonial history. The 60-room inn’s historically inspired decor includes a distinctive color palette, brass fixtures, wide-planked hand-hewn hickory floors and period details. Forge & Vine, a 156-seat freestanding restaurant set on 8.5 acres shared with The Groton Inn, will open this summer.
Omni Properties LLC, a commercial real estate development, brokerage, and property management company based in Concord, MA, is the developer of The Groton Inn.
B On Canal Hotel
B on Canal, a boutique hotel in New Orleans is now open following an extensive multimillion-dollar renovation.
B on Canal pays homage to the city’s history which can be seen in the property’s design. The lobby is reminiscent of a modern-day French boutique from its built-in Roman arches and gold-brushed elevator doors with original medallions, to the black and white custom marble floor, statement chandelier and chrome and crystal light fixtures throughout, according to management. The 15-story building houses 155 guestrooms and suites ranging in size from 231 to 863 sq. ft.
As part of the renovation, B on Canal opened Madam’s Modern Kitchen + Bar, a casual concept is located on the property, with dining room and bar seating as well as a private dining room.
