ABERDEEN, SD—My Place Hotels of America has celebrated the grand opening of its property in West Valley City, UT, which marks its first property in the state. The company is also planning its first two properties in Idaho.

The event was attended by both West Valley City and Salt Lake City chambers of commerce, in addition to many members of the neighboring communities. The new economy extended-stay hotel is located at 3074 South Decker Lake Dr., positioned close to the Maverik Center, downtown Salt Lake City, Salt Lake airport and the Wasatch Mountains. This new hotel is independently owned by MP WVC LLC and managed by Legacy Management LLC.

A Utah and Salt Lake Valley resident for years, Craig Larsen, the principal engineer and developer for MP WVC LLC, said, “There’s a huge amount of people here and a huge amount of demand generators where we’ve got a freeway [nearby]and some big venues. So with a huge demand here and with what the city has done to revitalize the city, we were very impressed and wanted to be here.”

All My Place Hotels offer modern amenities and daily, weekly and monthly rate options. Each extended-stay guestroom features a My Kitchen, complete with a two-burner cooktop, a microwave and a full refrigerator. The property is pet friendly and also includes on-site laundry facilities, free high-speed internet service and a 24-hour My Store, located in the hotel lobby. Additionally, guests are invited to enjoy a customizable breakfast in bed delivery option.

In Idaho, My Place Hotel Twin Falls will be located east of St. Luke’s Medical Center. The three-story, 64-room hotel is scheduled to open this fall, and it is owned by MPI Investment Group, LLC.

The second property in Idaho, My Place Hotel Meridian is set to open in spring 2017. Meridian’s newest hotel will feature 85 extended-stay rooms, located on 3050 East Jewel St. across the road from The Village.

This property is owned by MP Meridian, LLC. Historically, the managing members have built and operated independent extended-stay hotels.

“In considering a flag for this project, we interviewed and researched several franchises. We knew we made the right decision in partnering with My Place when we visited the corporate headquarters in Aberdeen, SD. The feeling of a family-owned operation had a tremendous appeal to us. The owners had the willingness to work with us, which cemented the deal in our minds,” said Daniel Pretorius, managing member, MP Meridian, LLC.
