PARIS—By the end of the month, MGallery by Sofitel is expected to expand to Netanya, Israel, with the opening of the David Tower Hotel Netanya MGallery by Sofitel; it will be the brand’s first property in Israel. This follows the March opening of the Hotel Santa Teresa Rio de Janeiro MGallery by Sofitel in Brazil, another first for the brand and its second hotel in South America.

MGallery by Sofitel has more than 80 hotels in 23 countries worldwide. Throughout MGallery by Sofitel’s expansion to new destinations, the brand remains dedicated to creating a collection of hotels for explorers, according to the company.

The David Tower Hotel Netanya MGallery by Sofitel is located a short distance from the beach promenade and overlooks Netanya’s blue and golden coast on the Israeli Riviera. The name David Tower Hotel Netanya refers both to the hotel’s address on King David St. and its story, which inspired the hotel’s designers. The hotel tells the tale of a Sultan who chose its shores to build a golden retreat for himself and his secret fiancée and the hotel’s lobby features a modern interpretation of the romantic tale, according to the company. The hotel features 70 standard rooms, three junior suites and two suites.

Opened in March, the Hotel Santa Teresa Rio de Janeiro MGallery by Sofitel is located near local attractions such as the statue of Christ the Redeemer, Sugarloaf Mountain, Copacabana beach and the Ipanema coast.

The hotel’s locale plays a role in the design scheme, with decorative touches by Brazilian artists and designers. The lighting, color contrasts and natural materials intertwine. Accommodations include king-size beds, spa, swimming pool and Jacuzzi. At the hotel’s restaurant, Tereze, Chef Pablo Ferreyra serves up-to-the-minute flavors mingled with Brazilian mainstays amid views of the Guanabara Bay.

Additional openings for the brand include Palazzo Livorno MGallery by Sofitel in Tuscany in June and Leicester Square MGallery by Sofitel in London in September.
