Marriott Hawaii Names Uy To Post

HONOLULU— Ruth Uy has been named associate director of travel industry sales, U.S. and international leisure for Marriott International Hawaiian Islands Hotels and Resorts. Uy, whose office will be based at the Waikiki Beach Marriott Resort and Spa, will help oversee all leisure sales-related activities and opportunities with contracted travel industry partners within North America and Europe on behalf of eight Marriott International brand properties on four major Hawaiian islands. These include: the 356-room Kaua’i Marriott Resort and Spa; 312-room Courtyard by Marriott Kauai at Waipouli Beach; 521-room Wailea Marriott Resort; 345-room Renaissance Wailea Beach Resort; 210-room Kapalua Bay Hotel, A Renaissance Resort; 387-room JW Marriott Ihilani Resort and Spa at Ko Olina; 1,310-room Waikiki Beach Marriott Resort and Spa; and the 545-room Waikoloa Beach Marriott Resort. She also will oversee two senior managers who are based in the U.S. Mainland west and east coasts and be responsible for servicing all retail travel agencies nationwide. Prior to joining Marriott, Uy was the senior director of sales and distribution, U.S. and International, Aston Hotels and Resorts, a Resort Quest Co., She also was a sales manager at the Halekulani Hotel.
