LAKE LAS VEGAS, NV— Loews Hotels plans to acquire the 493-room Hyatt Regency here, taking a 25% equity position in the purchase. An unnamed investor is acquiring the remaining majority stake. New York-based Loews did not disclose the purchase price. The property will be rebranded the Loews Lake Las Vegas Resort. Loews had previously announced plans to build a brand new resort in the Lake Las Vegas complex, which is located 17 miles from the Las Vegas Strip. Loews plans have now been put on hold.
