ARUBA— In a $237-million transaction, the ownership entity holding the leasehold interest in the Aruba Marriott Resort & Stellaris Casino on the island of Aruba has been sold. Sonnenblick Goldman negotiated the transaction for the seller, Plant Hotel N.V. Acquiring the resort was Caribbean Real Estate Opportunity Fund. The 413-room property includes 20 suites with ocean views, a 17,000-square foot casino and 11,000 square feet of meeting and banquet space. Marriott will continue to operate the resort under a long-term management agreement. NIBC Bank NV of the Netherlands acted as the financial advisor to the majority shareholder of Plant Hotel in the transaction.
