Legacy Gets OK To Buy 2 From CP

TORONTO At a special meeting held recently, the unitholders of Legacy Hotels Real Estate Investment Trust approved Legacy s proposed purchase of The Fairmont Express and the Fairmont Chateau Frontenac hotels from Canadian Pacific Hotels for an aggregate purchase price of $305 million. The closing of the acquisition is expected to take place in January 2001. Legacy also received unitholder approval of certain amendments to the Declaration of Trust, Strategic Alliance Agreement and the Advisory Agreement. (12/7/00)
