NEW YORK—JMH Development, led by Principal Jason Halpern, has topped off the Aloft South Beach, the 235-room hotel scheduled to open in early 2015 in the heart of Miami Beach.
The project, developed by JMH Development and Madden Real Estate Ventures, is an adaptive reuse of the historic Motel Ankara and will also include a new eight-story tower. Plaza Construction is handling the hotel’s construction, and the project’s architect is ADD, Inc.
According to the company, Aloft South Beach will be first newly constructed hotel to open in South Beach since 2009.
The Aloft South Beach will offer a waterfront location with access to Lake Pancoast and the Collins Canal, which wrap around the property. One block from Miami Beach, the new Aloft will also be near to the Miami Beach Convention Center, several art galleries, the Bass Museum of Art and numerous night clubs, restaurants and boutiques.
Hotel amenities will include an outdoor pool, roof deck lounge, a 24-hour fitness center and 2,349 sq. ft. of flexible meeting space.
