NATIONAL REPORT—Irvine Company Resort Properties appoints a new president, and two design firms revamp leadership teams. Here are more executives on the move:
Scott Hermes Promoted to President of Irvine
Irvine Company Resort Properties recently welcomed its new president, Scott Hermes, CMP, bringing more than 30 years of hospitality and meetings industry expertise. He leads operations, marketing and all other aspects of Irvine Company’s Resort Properties division, which includes the Coastal Collection— encompassing The Resort at Pelican Hill, Fashion Island Hotel and Hotel Irvine—as well as Irvine’s Oak Creek Golf Club and California Recreation Company.
Hermes’ prior hospitality experience includes 15 years at Starwood Hotels, where he served as area managing director for several hotels under its brands, including St. Regis, Luxury Collection, Westin, Sheraton and W Hotels.
Gensler Has a New Leadership Duo
Architecture and design firm Gensler has added Hunter Clayton as the co-managing director of the Houston office alongside Stephanie Burritt. Clayton rejoins Gensler following 10 years with the firm’s Santa Monica, CA and Las Vegas offices and seven years as an executive with MGM Resorts International.
Clayton joins Burritt, who has been with the firm for 28 years and has served as co-managing director of the Houston office since 2016.
KAI Appoints New Director of Design
KAI Design & Build promotes Todd Jacobs, AIA, FHFI, LEED AP, to director of design.
Jacobs, who was hired in November 2016 as VP and senior project manager, will replace Marcus Moomey, AIA, DBIA, who is moving from the director of design position to a new position as director of design-build.
As director of design, Jacobs will provide overall leadership for KAI’s architecture and interior design practice and foster a climate focused on collaboration within KAI’s multi-disciplined teams, delivering design and build solutions on complex projects.
