WESTON, FL— The Ireland Cos. has refinanced its recently renovated Hyatt Regency Bonaventure Conference Center & Spa here with $62.5 million it obtained through an undisclosed foreign bank. Ireland Cos. was the original developer of the hotel when it premiered as the Bonaventure Resort & Spa more than 30 years ago. The investor then sold the hotel in 1988, but repurchased it in September of 2004. At that time, it began a $100-million renovation of the property that involved its guestrooms and conference center. Hyatt Hotels subsequently signed on as the hotel’s management company in September of 2006, making the asset into a Hyatt Regency that will make its official grand reopening in January. The 500-room hotel sits on 23 acres and contains a 48,000-square-foot Red Door Lifestyle Spa, Elizabeth Arden; 100,000 square feet of meeting space; four pools; multiple restaurants; and a nature trail. The law firm of Bilzin Sumberg Baena Price & Axelrod, LLP, secured the refinancing package for Ireland Cos.
