NORTHBROOK, IL— Lane Industries, Inc. has formed a new subsidiary to develop mixed-use properties in select U.S. markets with an environmentally responsible focus. The wholly owned subsidiary will be known as LaneTerra, LLC, and is targeting the Southeast, Southwest and Western U.S. The focus of LaneTerra will embrace sustainable design and construction practices by utilizing renewable energy processes and recycled building materials, employing environmental preservation techniques including walkable neighborhoods and open space, incorporating local businesses and building economically diverse communities. Ten-year veteran Bill Keating, who joined Lane Industries in 1982, will head LaneTerra as president, and Sharon Walton will be vp, finance. The new company has two projects in progress: The Park at San Tan in Chandler, AZ, a 16-acre mixed use venture with office and retail space and Tavachi in Basalt, CO, a 68-acre mixed use development with residential and retail offerings.
