LONDON—InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) has opened the InterContinental Real Santo Domingo in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. The 21-story property has 227 guestrooms, two bars and three restaurants. The hotel, located at Avenida Winston Churchill, Corner Porfirio Herrera, Ensanche Piantini, is owned and managed by Real Hotels & Resorts.

The $70-million new-build hotel offers a variety of luxury suites, including 16 junior suites and one presidential suite that spans 2,300 sq. ft. and offers views of the Caribbean Sea. The on-site spa has two saunas, two steam baths and an infinity pool overlooking the city. The fitness center is open 24 hours and has state-of-the-art equipment with WiFi-enabled features. The property is accessible to Boca Chica Beach and located less than an hour from Santo Domingo.
Among the hotel’s restaurants are The Market, Nau and Factory Steak & Lobster. Additionally, the hotel offers nearly 9,000 sq. ft. of meeting space spread across eight rooms, with a maximum capacity of 750 guests. There is also audiovisual technology and a meetings and events team for events.
