GRANITE CITY, IL Caseyville motel owner, Amrut Patel, wants to build a 35-room motel on Granite Citys north end, but officials are unsure whether the development is needed. Patel will ask the city Planning Commission on December 14 to rezone a 15-acre lot that he owns in order to build the motel. However, city leaders need to determine whether another motel on the citys northern corridor would be the best use of the available land. Patel said his motel would have an indoor pool and would likely be flagged a Best Western. (12/12/00) Source: Belleville News-Democrat, IL
