IHG’s Porter Headlines Unisys Summit

ST PAUL de VENCE, FRANCE— Stevan Porter, President, The Americas, InterContinental Hotels Group, opened the 6th Annual Unisys Travel and Hospitality Summit here with a keynote address in which he discussed his vision for the guestroom of the future and how companies can maximize the guest experience. Porters address was followed by guest services and in-room technology presentations by such hospitality and business executives as Rob Solomon, svp and Joe Durocher, svp/CIO, Outrigger Hotels and Resorts; Tassos Kazinos, president/NEOS Interactive; and Robert Kacergis, managing partner/Malvern Partners. The final presentation of the first day was the Presidents Panel titled “A View From The Top,” and featured Bill DeForrest, president/CEO, Lane Hospitality; Gerry Chase, president/COO, New Castle Hotels and Resorts; and Steve Van, president/CEO, Prism Hotels. The session was moderated by HOTEL BUSINESS® publisher Jay Schultz. The panel discussed development trends, franchising, the condo-hotel phenomenon and the continued emergence of lifestyle hotels.
