ATLANTA—InterContintnental Hotels Group has signed a deal with the Shanghai Huangpu River Banks Asset Management Co., Ltd. to develop its first Hotel Indigo in Shanghai, China. The 180-room hotel will be the boutique brands first property in Asia and is currently slated to open in 2010. Bringing Hotel Indigo to Asia is part of IHGs overall strategy to reinforce its position in the Asia Pacific region. Other locations being targeted by the company include Hong Kong, Singapore and Tokyo.
