LONDON—InterContinental Hotels Group has signed the Holiday Inn Warsaw – City Centre, Poland. The hotel will operate under a management agreement with UBM, who own a number of IHG hotels including InterContinental Warsaw.
Due to open in early 2018, the 254-room hotel is a short distance from the Palace of Culture and Science and Zlote Tarasy, a commercial, office and entertainment complex. It is less than a 10-minute walk from the city’s main train station and a 20-minute drive from Warsaw Chopin International Airport, making it very accessible to the city center.
The property will be the first Holiday Inn hotel in Poland to feature the brand’s signature open lobby with a 24-hr restaurant and bar. The Holiday Inn Open Lobby has transformed the traditional hotel lobby format by combining the front desk, restaurant, bar, lounge area and business center into one open, cohesive space, while refreshing the design to give it a more contemporary feel. The hotel also features a conference area, five meeting rooms and a gym on the 16th floor with a panoramic view of the city.
“This hotel will be a fantastic addition to our Holiday Inn portfolio, with a great long term partner UBM. We’re thrilled Holiday Inn Warsaw – City Centre will bring the brand’s signature Open Lobby to Poland, giving domestic and international guests the chance to experience the new feature first hand. As part of our continued strategic expansion across Europe, Warsaw is a key city for us, so this is an important step for our growth in the region,” Miguel Martins, director of development, Poland, IHG.
“Given the success of our IHG partnership with InterContinental Warsaw and Holiday Inn Frankfurt – Alte Oper, the opportunity to build on this relationship was a natural next step. This will be our first Holiday Inn in Poland and we’re confident that the fantastic location of this hotel coupled with the brand’s open lobby will make this hotel a top choice for both business and leisure guests,” said Martin Loecker, COO of UBM.
Every Holiday Inn features signature bedding that includes a pillow menu, as well as meeting and on-site business facilities, free breakfast and a Kids Stay and Eat Free program. There are currently 282 Holiday Inn hotels in Europe with a further 37 in the pipeline.
